As a makeup artist myself I know how stressful it was when I started out and being on a tight ass budget and not being able to afford everything I wanted but don't feel like you need to have everything in your kit and don't worry about having all expensive brands or all one brand in your kit, your kit should be a reflection of what you think the best products are in the universe. You should have a variety of brands in your kit. Same with brushes don't think you need to go out and buy every single makeup brush under the sun just buy the basics.

Skin primers are products that even out the surface of the skin. They fill small wrinkles and pores, giving the skin a month appearance.
Foundation
You will want to purchase 3-5 different foundation shades, light, medium and dark and you can mix if you need to match to suit skin tone.
Concealers
Concealers are the same as foundation purchase light, medium and dark and match to suit skin tone.
Cleansers
Cleansing products remove dirt, sweat and bacteria that build up on the surface of the skin. For clients with oily skin you would want to use products that remove a little oil whereas for clients with dry skin, you will need hydrating products.
Transulencent powder
Suits every skin tone and it sets the makeup.
Blush
I suggest to get a blush palette that contains 5-6 different blush shades of pink, red and peach.
Bronzer
Matte and shimmer bronzer.
Brown and black mascara

You can purchase a natural colour palette and a bright colour palette.

5-8 different colours in nude, pink, peach, brown, red and colourful shades if you want to add to your kit.
Lip glosses
In pink, red, neutral and glitter glosses.
